Prince Station, 3D printed, N Scale

$89.99

Prince Station, 3D printed, N Scale

Dedicated in 1946, Prince’s stark Modern design, its innovative features for the time, and its
isolated position deep in the remote and wild New River Gorge, combined with its position as
one of the few high design railroad stations built after the war anywhere, has given it certain
cachet in architectural circles, and interest among modelers and C&O fans. The station is
125 feet long and 22 feet wide and has exterior walls of common brick faced with reddish
brick. The sills and trim are gray Indiana limestone. Covering the station is a tar-and-gravel
roof resting on a four-inch-thick concrete slab. While there have been alterations to the
station since it’s opening, the key elements of this iconic building can be found largely intact
today when visiting the locale.

This 3-D printed, N-scale model is comprised of three sections for the roof and a complete,
single piece, body for the station. It has been carefully designed from drawings and
specifications contained within the C&O HS Archives and photos (including construction
photos) used to validate details. The prototype’s canopy and loading platform are not
included, but can be constructed from commonly available parts to suit your situation. Some
cleanup and minor assembly is necessary to complete the model. Painting is required.
